Without wasting any time – let’s get right down to it and show you exactly how you can perform the red hammer trick!
HERE’S THE EFFECT:
1: You hand someone an envelope with a secret prediction inside and instruct them to only open it when you say so..
2: You then ask someone a series of simple math questions..
3: After that, you ask them to name a color and a tool…
4: 98% of people will say a RED HAMMER!
5: You can then ask them to open your prediction and reveal a picture of a red hammer!
How To Perform The Red Hammer Trick..
The first thing to do is set the scene and don’t tell anybody about a red hammer and do not call it the red hammer trick for obvious reasons!
“Don’t be put off by the simplicity of this POWERFUL trick!“
Usually the BEST Mentalism Tricks are the most basic and EASY to perform!
The key is all in the presentation.
Here’s a few PRO tips when performing this classic:
- Don’t introduce it as just a “trick” – call it an experiment!
- Try to build up some showmanship and suspense into the performance
- Hand them the prediction in a dramatic fashion – sealed in an envelope
- This works well when performed in a routine with other Mentalism tricks
INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP 1:
Print off a photograph of a red hammer and put it in an envelope.
You can print off this image below which will be perfect.
STEP 2:
Hand this envelope to a spectator and explain that you would like to try and experiment with the subconscious mind.
STEP 3:
Ask them the following questions…
What is 15 + 6?
What is 3 + 56?
What is 89 + 2?
What is 12 + 53?
What is 75 + 26?
What is 25 + 52?
What is 63 + 32?
And finally, what is 123 + 5?
Now – Think of a color and name it out loud!
(Try to get them to say this as quickly as possible)
Now – Think of a tool and say it out loud!
(Again – don’t give them long to think – tell them to name it quickly)
Then…… BOOM!
98% OF PEOPLE WILL SAY RED HAMMER!
STEP 4:
In a dramatic fashion – tell the spectator to open the prediction and see if you were correct.
Of course you will be… A WHOPPING 98 times out of 100 performances!
The key here is to get them to answer your questions as quickly as possible and don’t let them ponder on different answers.
When you are asking the math questions, get them into the habit of responding as quickly as they can.
This will improve your results and you can get this spot on 100% of the time!
